Jami-Lee's Emergency Appendectomy
Donation protected
On the evening of May 30th, 2018, our friend, our favorite restaurant manager, a mother of an amazing son, Jami-Lee, stopped ignoring pain she'd been having for several days, and went into the emergency room. She went through an emergency appendectomy not long after.
As a single mother, she works to support her son, to ensure he has what he needs, and, sometimes that means going without. In her case, as with many others in this country, she has no health insurance. Most Americans can't afford more than a $100 health care without going into some form of debt, and the healthcare industry isn't afraid to play hardball with uninsured patients. A planned appendectomy generally is in the range of $10-15K, while an emergency appendectomy can run in the $20-30K range. This will also affect her ability to work due to her recovery period, which drives her costs even higher.
The money raised here will be used to pay her medical bills and cover living expenses during her recovery period. This will run as a fully transparent campaign - we will post images of the bills that she receives, showing her need.
As hard as it may be for her to accept funds from friends and strangers alike, she needs our help. Can you pitch in $5? Can you pitch in $100? Every dollar received helps so much!
