Hello! We are Jamile and Tony Davis, an NYC-based guitar & voice duo that can be found performing all over the city's most esteemed venues, including a weekly residency at D'Antan in Brooklyn. We've been in NYC for 4+ years and met while both pursuing our Master's in Music degrees. Since then we have been frequently performing together, using our different backgrounds to help create this unique duo.
After years of hard work, we are incredibly excited to go into the studio this summer to record our first album. This has been a dream of ours for quite some time. We cover a vast range of musical selections and tend to focus on the Brazilian, Jazz and other Latin repertoire. As seen here: Mirame Más & September In the Rain
Originally from Brazil, Jamile has been singing since she said her first words as a baby. She fell in love with jazz through Aretha Franklin, and from there she started developing her own sound, which combines her Brazilian roots and other musical influences. She released her first album as a leader in 2019 and is becoming one of the most sought after vocalists in the city.
Hailing from Connecticut, Tony has been surrounded by music his entire life. Being the son of two esteemed jazz musicians, he quickly developed a passion for music and after discovering Jimi Hendrix at age 14, he began his pursuit on the guitar. He released his debut album as a leader in 2020, regularly performs with some of the greatest musicians in NYC and the world, and is becoming one of the distinct voices on the guitar today.
Despite the extreme difficulty the pandemic has brought us independent artists, we are still pursuing our performing and recording careers as passionately as ever. However, recording without any aid from a record label is extremely costly and in order to accomplish our vision we need any help we can get!
So we are reaching out to anyone who has the means to support our campaign and to help us bring this music to life! Any amount that you can contribute is sincerely appreciated and will play a key role in bringing our dream to existence. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping keep the music alive!
