Jami's Soccer In Scotland Fund

My name is Jami Lashua, and I’m a 15 year-old sophomore from Williston, Vermont. After a year of tryouts, hard work, and dedication, I've earned a spot on the 2002 Boys Olympic Development Program Region 1 Team representing the eastern United States.
On April 7, 2018 our team is travelling to Edinburgh, Scotland to compete against some of the best teams in the world from famous clubs like Celtic F.C. and Rangers F.C. Any donations I receive will help cover the costs of my trip including airfare, hotel, food, and training at the Scottish National Team facility.
The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program was formed in 1977 to identify players in each age group from which a National Team will be selected for international competition; to provide high-level training to benefit and enhance the development of players at all levels.
It was hard work to make the team. Over the past year, I have been traveling to trainings, try-outs, and tournaments in Vermont, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida with the hope of earning a spot on the Region 1 team and someday being selected for the U.S. national team. This trip is the next step on my soccer journey.
I have been playing soccer seriously for about 5 years with Nordic Football Club and as a member of the Champlain Valley High School varsity soccer team as a freshman and sophomore. I'm dedicated to improving my soccer skills and hope that they can open some doors for me at colleges and or academies in the future.
This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will give me international travel experience while also allowing me to see how I stack up against some of the best players my age in the world.
I am truly grateful for any donations you may be able to provide for me as I continue to chase my dreams!
Sincerely,
Jami Lashua
