Jamies Fund & First world tour!

Jamie Davis, an 18-year-old drummer and musician hailing from Liverpool, England, was given a life-changing opportunity in 2023 when he stepped in as the Falling Doves’ emergency sub drummer for the remainder of the year.

Despite the noticeable age gap between Jamie and the band, there was an inexplicable connection that transcended any barriers. Much like the support Mike & Christopher received from established musicians in their early days, the band has continued to pay it forward. Just as they had nurtured Katie’s talent and helped her learn to play the bass a year prior to meeting Jamie, Mike and Christopher were eager to extend their support to the young drummer. After careful consideration, they decided to sponsor Jamie for lessons with one of Liverpool’s top drummers, Mr. Colin George Lamont, a renowned drummer and professor at LIPA University. With Colin’s guidance, Jamie embarked on a journey of growth and learning.

Jamie’s roots lie in Bootle, an area of Liverpool reminiscent of the early Beatles’ impoverished council home district. Despite the challenges he faced, Jamie’s humble beginnings have not deterred him. He works tirelessly to provide for his mother and younger sibling, shielding them from the harsh realities of the streets.

Starting with a makeshift drum kit pieced together from recycled parts and donations from fellow musicians, Jamie crafted his first set of drums.

Reflecting on my own journey as a young musician, I vividly recall the pivotal moment when I received my first endorsement from Taylor Guitars at the age of 24, thanks to the support of a well-known musician. It transformed my life and paved the way for my career in entertainment.

Both Mike and I emerged from challenging backgrounds where financial stability was a luxury. We toiled tirelessly to save up for our first instruments, taking on paper routes and odd jobs during the summer months. Understanding the limitations Jamie faces without a safety net, we are compelled to support his aspirations.

We firmly believe in Jamie’s potential as an exceptional artist. The kit we have sponsored for him will not only elevate his performances in professional settings but also enable him to continue supporting his family. The impact on Jamie’s self-esteem is immeasurable.

This summer, we are supporting Jamie’s journey by covering his travel expenses for his inaugural international tour in Japan. He will be joining us for performances in the USA over the coming months and in the UK in the fall.

As working musicians, Mike, Katie, and I extend opportunities, a few paid shows, and unwavering support to Jamie. A portion of our merchandise sales will go towards assisting Jamie with his kit, education, and living expenses as he navigates new opportunities and remains on tour with us throughout the year.

In these trying times, as venues shutter and financial strains loom, the compensation from shows often falls short of covering essential expenses like travel, meals, and accommodations. While the future remains uncertain, we implore you to join us in making a meaningful difference in Jamie’s life.
