As many of you know, on June 4, after multiple times of going back and forth to the hospital for severe chest and abdominal pain, my sister, Jamie, was hospitalized at USA for Severe Preeclampsia developing into HELLP syndrome where her platelets were low and liver enzymes elevated. Once at the hospital for evaluation, it was decided that for her health and the health of her baby, Asher, delivery was imminent. On June 5 at 2:30pm she delivered her sweet baby boy at 24 weeks and 6 days weighing a whopping 1.8lbs. He is currently in NICU and will be there for many months to come before he will be able to come home to her.
Her health is getting better slowly and she was discharged home, but she is not able to work right now. She also has to be closely monitored by her Drs to make sure that her pressures and labs are trending back to normal as well.
As she was also not planning on delivering her baby boy so early, she has not incurred enough PTO either and probably won’t have enough for maternity leave as well. All this has been unexpected and a lot of stress on her family. Her boyfriend, Kevin, has gone back to work, but, they have home bills that need paid and medical bills are coming in quickly. They are also traveling everyday, back and forth to USA from Silverhill to visit Asher as well as giving him her pumped breast milk to help him growing strong.
I am asking for donations to help her family during this difficult time to help alleviate some of the stress that they have. If anyone is willing to help, we appreciate it so much. We love each and every one of you and will continue to update as we go.
