Jamie's Brain Aneurysm Recovery: Help Support Her Journey
Donation protected
On Tuesday, May 7th, my mom was rushed to the hospital with severe symptoms: an excruciating headache, vomiting, and falling in and out of consciousness. Upon arrival, medical staff conducted a CT scan revealing a ruptured brain aneurysm causing bleeding in her brain. She underwent an angiogram procedure, during which 4 coils were inserted to stop the bleeding. The following day, she experienced confusion and drowsiness, leading to the diagnosis of hydrocephalus, resulting in needing an External Ventricular Drain (EVD) procedure to relieve fluid buildup in her brain. While there has been some improvement over the past 2 weeks, the risk of complications such as strokes, blood clots, and seizures persists. Unfortunately, on May 19th, her drain began to leak, prompting sedation and stitches today, May 20th, coincidentally her 45th birthday. We've been by her side in the neuro ICU for these past weeks, spending both Mother's Day and her birthday there. With her recent job change, she does not have health insurance, and the medical bill is a lot, estimated in the millions. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be immensely appreciated to assist with mounting hospital bills and everyday expenses, as she is currently unable to work, and we don’t know if or when she’ll be able to work again. Thank you sincerely for your love, prayers, and support during this challenging time.
