My dearest friend and life-sister Jamilette was diagnosed with an ear tumor back in March of 2022. Thank goodness the tumor is a benign Acoustic Neuroma (vestibular schwannoma) and is not cancerous!! Unfortunately, after several tests, UW Health Madison WI, doctors have determined that she needs brain surgery to remove the tumor. The tumor has been growing for more than 10+ years and is now 17x20 millimeters (almost 1 inch) in size and interfering with vital nerve functions. Jammie has lost 60% of her hearing capability in her right ear. This tumor is a benign growth starting on the hearing and balance nerve near the inner ear and brain. It can press against the nerve, causing hearing loss, ringing in the ear and balance problems. Because of its size, doctors are removing the tumor this July 12th in hopes of stopping it from pressing against her brainstems and preventing future head-brain complications. As with any brain surgery, some possible side effects include facial paralysis, speech problems, eye problems, balance problems, brain nerve damage, etc.

After surgery, Jamie must rest at home for a minimum of 5 weeks before she can go back to work. She must always have someone with her to ensure she rests and follows the doctor’s instructions. Dear Mauricio will take time off from his job to be home to help her recover from surgery. They both need our help to cover all expenses not covered by her insurance.
