Please Help Us Cremate Jamie

Please help me cremate my brother’s remains so he is not abandoned at the hospital morgue and buried in an unmarked pauper's grave.

My brother, James Monroe Robinson III, or Jamie to his friends and family, suffered a catastrophic brain bleed on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Burlington, North Carolina. He was transported to Alamance Regional Medical Center ER. Following numerous tests, neurologists determined that Jamie would never recover from the intracerebral hemorrhage. He was placed on life support until my wife and I were able to get to him and figure out the next steps for him. We arrived from Alabama Monday evening.

After a visit with several physicians and hearing that there was nothing that could be done for Jamie, we decided to donate his organs and tissue to those who could use them.

His organ donor Honor Walk was Wednesday, March 19, 2025, and we were able to accompany Jamie in the operating room where they removed him from life support. I was able to sit with my brother and hold his hand, talking about when we were kids while he slowly slipped away.

Unfortunately, Jamie was like the majority of Americans - no life insurance, no funeral pre-planning, no savings, and no money. And to make things worse, none of his family, myself included, has the funds to cover the costs either.

This GoFundMe is our last resort. If we don’t raise the $1,200 needed by Monday, March 31st, the hospital will classify his remains as abandoned and the county will take possession and bury him in an unmarked grave. We will lose him permanently.
