Hello, my name is Cindy I am a NICU nurse. Our team is trying to raise funds to help an extraordinary nurse. Jamie Ward has dedicated her life to taking care of the most fragile premature babies. She has been a nurse for 23 years and is currently working as a full time Unit Coordinator at Sentara Princess Anne. Jamie's world was turned upside down in May 2022. She was diagnosed with stage 4 polycystic kidney disease. Despite losing 50lbs combined with an aggressive regimen of medications her kidneys are still rapidly failing. Her diet is drastically limited, she is unable to take simple pain medications and she is the only nurse that is not allowed to drink coffee. Her strength to stay positive is divine, she pushes forward everyday in pain. Unfortunately, she recently learned she is in the 5th stage of this disease. This stage has initiated the process of a kidney transplant. Her beautiful family is anxiously waiting for her to get a kidney. With two teenagers in college the daunting medical expenses are immensely overwhelming her family. She is unsure if she will be able to remain full time while she awaits a suitable donor. Her donations will be used to pay for medications and the cost uncovered by insurance. Please help her cause the way she has dedicated her life to helping others.
