Hello, my name is Adam Vesling, and I am reaching out on behalf of Jackie Statz and family. Jackie touched my heart with the sad story of her niece Jamie Rosenow. Jamie has a rare genetic condition called Familial Paraganglioma. This condition causes slow-growing tumors from the tissue of the paraganglia, which is a network of nerves.
Jamies Story...
Jamie is a bright light in an otherwise dark world. Jamie is 33 years old and has been living with the above described rare genetic conditon all of her life. Jamie and her husband Michael share twin 7 year old daughters Madison and McKenzie. Both Madison and McKenzie have slight learning disabilities which demands extra care and attention from both parents.
Jamie has lived with tumors all over her body with one being cancerous and on her head. This tumor has been growing for years, Jamie has seeked medical attention for this tumor in the Madison area and as far as Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota with all of them never seeing anything of its kind before. Leaving Jamie with a growing tumor as the medical professionals figured out a way to remove it. Jamie has been graceful in her handling of the large tumor on her head, going into public and having people stare is never an easy thing to process but Jamie has kept on living her life as normal. Jamie has since had the cancerous tumor on her head successfully removed and is now dealing with a new tumor developing on the opposite side of her head.
As if Jamie has'nt been tried enough, two weeks ago Jamie went to the doctor with back pain. After the visit and subsequent scans the doctors had scheduled a date for surgery on another tumor growing on her spine. Not more than a couple days later Jamie woke up with no feeling from her waist down and was rushed to the hospital via ambulance. The doctors performed emergency surgery on the spinal tumor but this has rendered her Paralyzed from the waist down. Jamie will be moved from the hospital Monday the 11th and transfered to a special care facility where she will not be allowed visitors. This is clearly devastating to Jamie and her famiy that they will not be able to see one another.
During these unimaginable next few days, weeks, months and years we are looking for help for this wonderful family. The family is looking to raise money to lessen the burden on Michael so he may continue to work a provide as much as possible. All donations will be put towards a handicap accessible ramp, front room renovations, Daycare for Madison and McKenzie and home payments. If you find yourself with the means to help out a great family in need, just know that your help is allowing some peice of mind and finacial support of a wonderful young family.
Sincerely,
Adam Vesling (on Behalf of Jackie Statz and Family)
