Hi my name is Melissa Williams, Jamie’s Aunt.

Jamie’s family and myself have created this page for Jamie, who has had an extremely unforeseen bout of life-threatening health scares and complications over the last month or so.

After a few trips to the hospital for unexplained illness and high fevers, an infection was found in her bloodstream. The infection traveled to her heart and damaged a valve, requiring for emergency open heart surgery. She required a 2nd surgery to place a pacemaker, as the infection caused permanent damage to her heart.

Jamie has been out of work battling this since July 26th. She is a single mother who works full time to support herself and her son. The length of her medical leave is unknown and with that she will end up using all of her paid time off, sick leave, and vacation time to continue to survive and support her son.

Jamie will be staying with family while she recovers, but will still face medical expenses and all of her regular living expenses in the interim to her return home. In addition to recovery time from her first and second surgeries, we do not know the true extent to which her infection has impacted her health. Either way, Jamie has a long road of recovery ahead of her. Any and all help, as well as keeping her in your thoughts is greatly appreciated.
