Meet the Weaver’s
We are Jamie and Nicole Weaver, a happily married couple approaching our 10 year anniversary this October. As we are moving closer to our forties, we are hopeful that God will bless us with a precious child soon. Our journey to grow as a family began 6 years ago, but after trying for over a year, we became concerned. Upon seeking medical advice, we discovered Jamie had a zero sperm count. Jamie tried several different treatments to try and increase his sperm count. The doctor informed us that Jamie did not have any type of blockage, but he had a low sperm count. A normal sperm count should be in the millions, but Jamie’s only reached the low thousands even after treatments. With high hopes and lots of specific prayers, we decided to start the In Vitro (IVF) process in February of 2012. We were very excited of the possibility of having a child and were eager to start our family. We completed the IVF cycle in June of 2012 with no success. With so many people praying for us, we were very optimistic that we would be parents soon. Jamie and I were heartbroken that our first attempt with IVF was such a disappointment.
Jamie and I have a strong desire to have children, so we decided to continue on our journey with hopeful hearts. In 2013, we were advised to seek the advice of a well known urologist in Atlanta. He discovered that Jamie did indeed have a blockage and needed to undergo surgery to have it removed. Jamie had the surgery in July of 2013, and we were hopeful his sperm count would increase enough to have children. Once again we were faced with disappointment because his sperm count did not increase enough for a naturally occurring pregnancy or even for artificial insemination. Our only choice was to try another round of IVF.
Even though the cost of IVF is between 18,000-20,000 dollars and offers no guarantees, Jamie and I were eager to try again. The love of a child is far more precious than any dollar amount. With high hopes we tried again. Everything was looking great this time, and we were so confident that is was going to work. Sadly, the embryos did not take, and a pregnancy did not occur. Our doctor is very confident that we have a great chance of having a child and is encouraging us to try again. We believe that God has not closed the door yet, and we are hoping to give it one more shot. We are reaching out to others through this site in hopes that people will want to help us on our journey to become parents. Since we are currently paying on our second loan of 18,000 for this procedure, we are not capable of taking out another loan. If you wish to support us on our journey, any donations would be greatly appreciated. If a donation is not possible, please lift us up in your prayers. We know it is in God’s hands, and prayers are appreciated just as much as donations.
Thank you for helping us with our desire to become parents. We will raise our child/children in a loving Christian home where they will be loved unconditionally and taught right from wrong. We believe in the power of prayer and miracles. This journey has been long, but it will all be worth it if we are blessed with a bundle of love. We hope you are moved by the Lord to help us in our journey.
With grateful hearts,
Nicole and Jamie Weaver
