In 2014, Jamie Hudlow was diagnosed with a brain tumor, Astrocytoma Stage 2 Cancer, that has a median survival time after diagnosis of four years. Since then, he’s had multiple surgeries and undergone chemo treatments. While Jamie continues to wage a valiant fight for his health, he continues to struggle in other areas.
Due to his medical condition, his strength has been sapped and he has been unable to work or drive. He has relied on disability benefits that unfortunately were cancelled when he missed a paperwork deadline. He is currently in the appeals process to get these back hopefully in the next three to six months. In the meantime, he has no place to live and no income for food.
On top of this, Jamie’s father passed away recently. He now has no family living in Chattanooga.
Our friend needs some help to sustain until his benefits are restored. In 2016, many stepped up to help Jamie through a tough patch. Well, he needs it again. Any funds collected will be used specifically for housing, transportation, food and medical needs and will be managed by his sister and brother.
It's easy to forget when so many of us don't have these problems or issues, but Jamie is one of our own. The McCallie Blue line runs longs and deep, we are all brothers and always there for one another, no matter what the circumstance. That is what Honor, Truth, Duty really means, not only during school, but carries on through life.
Let’s remind Jamie that he is loved.
