Jamie Hegge Medical Expenses Dog Attack

On the evening of November 18th Jamie Hegge, my best friend of 29 years, was brutally attacked by a unprovoked dog. We chose not to share images of the wounds as they are too gruesome, she did sustain a very serious lower leg injury and has a long road of recovery ahead of her.

She was rushed to Littleton Advent Hospital for emergency surgery. After the surgery she went to a surgical recovery room where she remained until she was discharged on the afternoon of the 25th.

In addition to the trauma this life altering event has caused, Jamie is facing extensive medical bills.

* Medical Care

(including the emergency transport to the Emergency room at Littleton Advent Hospital, scans(X-rays), an extensive hospital stay, a surgery for debridement and wound care, and antibiotic treatments, among others that she will be paying out of pocket.)

* Time off of Work

Jamie is self employed and has had to take a week and a half off of work while she was in the hospital, and her ability to work has been severely impacted.

Most people including myself would be feeling sorry for themselves, but Jamie is not the kind of person who would ever ask for help or let it impact her perseverance and drive. Jamie is the person that everyone else goes to for help, especially if they have some kind of medical injury and now she really needs our help.
