First ever fundraising activity to support Jamie!
What a whirlwind the last 16 months have been!
Jamie and Gabriel joined together a bit over a year ago and shortly after, they became partners and competed at Souvenirs Georges-Ethiers 2017 with only a short program and placed 2nd.
Jamie and Gabriel continued to work very hard and placed 2nd at the 2018 Championnats de la Sections "A " and also at the 2018 Skate Canada Challenge/Defi Competition.
This past summer, Jamie and Gabriel were invited by Skate Canada to represent Canada at the North American Skate Series, a competition that has not occurred for over 10 years, in Wisconsin, where Jamie and Gabriel placed 2nd. The second NAS Series competition took place in Toronto and Jamie and Gabriel placed 4th.
This year, Jamie and Gabriel placed 1st at Souvenirs George-Ethiers 2019. They continued and then won Gold at Sectionals at Championnats de la Sections "A" and as of this week, they are the 2019 Skate Canada Challenge/Defi Novice Pairs Champions, with Gold.
Jamie is now heading to the Canadian Tire Nationals for Novice Pairs in New Brunswick this coming January with Gabriel to represent Quebec.
Figure skating is an extremely expensive sport. Our children learn determination, perseverance, adaptability, teamwork and creativity.
The costs for high performance pair skaters can range from 20-40, 000$ per year for coaching, costumes, competitions (planes, hotels, food, registration fees), off ice training, choreography, ice time, skates...
Thank you for your support and for sharing!
