Sometimes those who do the most need a little. help too. If you know my cousin, she is as caring and compassionate as they come. If you don't, know that if you met her you would want to be her friend and she would gladly be yours and will be there for you when you need her. She loves ice coffee, long showers, bears and lip gloss! She loves hard and just doesn't give up despite hard times. She is someone you would want in your corner if you were stuck in one.
Last year, while checking her mail after a long night at work she was attacked at her mailbox right in front of her home. Totally unprovoked, she fought him off the best she could and eventually he ran off. Unfortunately, Jamie sustained several hard blows to the face. Stunned and hurt, she went to her neighbor for help. No one saw it happen and the assailant ran off and was never caught. Since then, Jamie has added various injuries to her already full plate of health issues. What seemed like just a lingering headache or concussion has turned into the need for 3 of the vertebrae in her neck to be replaced with titanium hardware. Unfortunately, Jamie has not been afforded much time to prepare. After being given the news she would need surgery, she had to schedule it within about 2 weeks. Her surgery was on 6/17/22 and so far she is in a lot of pain, but doing well. She has exhausted her PTO hours, going to doctors appointments and trying to heal from this incident. The surgery will require her to be out of work 2-3 months to recover and during this time she will be without pay and still responsible for her health and life insurance benefits.
As if this was not enough, Jamie suffered a sewage leak into her home while she was attempting to recover from the attack. The floors and walls had to be stripped and many personal items were lost. Home owners insurance did not cover the full cost of repair and the house had to be fitted with a special pump to prevent future incident. Many repairs remain and the cost of the repairs along with medical bills and time away from work has made an already difficult and unfortunate event even more so.
If you find it in your heart to help, please know that any amount is appreciated and will go towards living cost, repairs and medical bills. It's terribly sad that such a random and traumatic event is now costing lost time, wages and major surgery. Despite the stress of the situation, Jamie continues to keep a smile and push forward. Please help us to raise money to help during this difficult time.
