Help honour the legacy of Jim ❤️
Donation protected
We never imagined that we would find ourselves in a situation where we are organising a funeral and planning a memorial for Jim.
For those of you who knew Jim or have been following his journey on social media, you'll know that in December he suffered a tragic accident at work and passed away from his injuries on Boxing Day.
As many of you already know, a few years ago Jim left his home with almost nothing, he managed to gather enough funds to purchase an old caravan, albeit one in need of considerable repair. He made it his sole mission to turn it into a safe and happy space for his twins. He achieved that mission, it became their home, and they loved it.
In addition to building his new home, he started a new life off grid. He initially bought the caravan as a means to an end. This challenge really got his creative juices flowing and his life off grid commenced. He started many projects, one of which was documenting his journey on Instagram. That's when @JimBeaninthewild was born.
As Jim's brother and sister we have found comfort, not only from friends and family, but from his many followers on social media. We knew Jim had a big following but we never quite appreciated how much he was loved and admired. Consequently many of you have reached out to tell us that Jim had inspired you with his humour, tenacity and zest for life.
(People have requested to donate money for various reasons that would continue his legacy. With that in mind we hope to raise enough funds to be able to put towards a memorial and continue his many projects, that would then enable us to potentially have something to pass on to his kids in the future)
Jim felt terrible for having to ask for help earlier this year with his GoFundMe, so your incredible kind unprompted offers of support are greatly appreciated by us. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for all the love and kind messages about Jim that you have sent us.
