Support Jamie's Heart Transplant Recovery
Donation protected
Back in February, Jamie went to the walk-in clinic with some chest pains. That night he was admitted to the hospital due to severe heart failure and essentially hasn’t been home since. He was told that a heart transplant was a possibility, but that they would try other procedures first. Jamie underwent several surgeries (including having a defibrillator put in to protect him if his heart stopped working). However, nothing seemed to do the trick. Due to the severity of his condition, Jamie was moved to the top of the heart transplant list. Shortly after being moved up the list, Jamie's medical team was able to find a perfect match and he received a heart transplant on Good Friday. He is slowly recovering from the transplant, and all post-surgery tests have shown positive progress. We are all so happy and thankful that Jamie was able to receive the care that he needed; it saved his life.
While healing and starting to adjust to life after a heart transplant Jamie will also be learning what his long-term medical needs will be. Unfortunately, Jamie has been out of work since February and not all expenses associated with his medical care will be covered by insurance. This GoFundMe page was created to help him with his medical bills as well as everyday assistance.
If you know Jamie, then you know that he would never ask anything of anyone but would do everything for everyone. He is an amazing boyfriend, beloved son, and brother, a proud uncle, and a loyal friend. Jamie has been so appreciative of all the love, encouragement, and prayers that he has received over the past few months. We are hoping that this GoFundMe will help ease some of the burden and stress for Jamie so that he can focus on his recovery. We know this is a difficult time for everyone, and anything you are able to give will be greatly appreciated. We would like to thank you all in advance for your kindness, generosity, and support.
