On July 24th, 2020 Jamie Dieter was in a horrible accident south of Holdrege. While roping a steer, the horse veered off and reared up, landing on Jamie and crushing him underneath.  He was under the horse for 30 minutes before help arrived to safely get the horse up to avoid further injury.  He was rushed to Kearney Good Sam.  His injuries from this accident are a crushed femur bone, three fractured ribs, and two fractured vertebrae.  He had surgery on his leg, which required a 12 inch plate and 20+ screws.  His recovery and rehabilitation will be a long journey for his family.  His leg must remain non weight bearing for the next 3 months, followed by a long period of rehabilitation.  Jamie is the owner of Dieter Performance Horses, a horse training facility south of Holdrege.  His income has been truly affected by this accident.  The family has some insurance, however a large part of his medical costs are not covered by insurance.  This GoFundMe page is being created to help the family with medical and living expenses for the next few months while Jamie recovers.
