Hi, my name is Samantha, sister of Jami Bryce. I took it upon myself to ask for help for the Bryce family. Medical bills, hotel stays, parking passes, etc., are piling up very quickly and overwhelmingly.

Jami laid down for a nap in early October, unsure of what was coming. When she woke up, she was very confused, disoriented and unsure of who everyone was. She was taken to the ER, put on seizure medication, and started improving immediately. Doctors thought it was a possible interaction from prescription medications she was currently taking, causing serotonin syndrome. However, she began twitching when they did the EEG and light test to check for seizures. She was released from the hospital six days later with mild twitching and instructed to follow up with a Neurologist. Unfortunately, she could not find a Neurologist within a reasonable distance from Rock Port that could see her before early March.

On Thanksgiving day, the twitching worsened, and by early Friday morning, it was uncontrollable. All her muscles, including her eyes, lips, tongue, arms, legs and torso began twitching. She could communicate regularly, except for short spans of confusion and mental "absense." She was transported by ambulance to the hospital she was initially treated at. While in the ER, her oxygen levels dropped dangerously low, and after multiple interventions to assist her breathing, she had to be sedated, intubated and placed on a ventilator. She was moved to the ICU, where it was later determined that she needed a higher level of care. The following day she was transported to Houston to a neurology ICU. Upon arrival, she was extubated and slowly taken off the sedation. The Dr.s are currently running tests to find what is causing this. As of right now, the twitching has stopped. However, she is still very confused about what is happening around her. Her medical team is perplexed about what is going on as there is no family history relating to neurological issues on either side.

Jami and Brandon have been life-long partners, and Jami is the leading provider of her sweet family. Brandon put his dreams on hold to raise their two children and encouraged Jami to follow her dreams of becoming an ICU RN. Brandon is due to take his final EMT exam on Wednesday, November 30th, but his main concern is taking care of his wife and ensuring she is okay. He has not left her side and will not leave her side, so it's essential to add some financial comfort during this trying time. Jami is one of the most compassionate, kind, generous, and loving people I have ever met. We are asking for prayers and donations to help Brandon stay with his wife while she is going through this. The Bryce family usually is very private, but we will update as we see fit.
