Hi! Our names are Collins and Nii, and we run an NGO in Ghana called Jamestown Walking Tours .
Jamestown is one of the city's poorest suburbs. With low employment and high teen pregnancy, it's a tough place to live.
Our tour gives people a chance to see a different side of our home-town. We've been running for 8 years, and in that time have built this into the #1 Walking Tour of Accra on TripAdvisor .
But now we have to ask for a favour. This year has been hard on us. COVID has forced us to cancel all our tours for the past 3 months, and likely until the end of the year.
That’s a long time to have no income or government support, and right now our staff are doing it tough. Even after restrictions ease, visitor numbers to Accra will take a long while to bounce back, and we’re at serious risk of having to close the organisation.
Can you help by giving to our fundraiser?
An amount as little as $5 or $10 would make a huge difference to us surviving this turbulent time, and will help protect jobs in Jamestown.
We’re using this time to:
- Protect the livelihoods of our staff and their families
- Re-evaluate and improve our tours
- Creating a strong brand so we can bounce back bigger and better than ever.
