Hello, my name is James. I am an electrician by trade. I also love to travel. The one thing that gets me the most excited about is going and doing volunteer missions trips that I can use my talents and abilities to help. I have the opportunity to go back to a place in Southern Israel where I worked last year. This trip I will be able to partner with a group of great Austrailian guys to help rebuild and restore an area in Israel that were effected by recent attacks.
I am wanting to stay at least 4-6 weeks but can stay up to 90 days if I get enough funding. This is strictly volunteer and I do not get one cent for it. The place I will be will provide housing and food for 5 days. All funds raised will cover airfare, travel expenses, rental car, expenses while I am there and funds to cover my bills here at home since I will not be earning any income while I am gone.
People often ask why I would do things like this. They ask, "why would you drop everything here and go do that"? I will say, I persued money and things most of my life and it really got me nothing. I dont want to pursue stuff. I would rather go give all I have to bring hope and give someone a hand that needs it.
The Israeli people are an amazing people. The feel like the world hates them and no one cares. If I can show there are people that do, I did my job. The Bible says those who bless Israel will be blessed. Something like this takes a team. I truly believe its my calling to go to places like this and spend my time. But I also know I cannot do it alone and it takes a team. And if you would like to be a part of the team, you will be a blessing to the people of Israel and I know God will return that blessing back.
