My sweet boy, my reason for living, aka Jameson, an 11 year old wheaten terrier, my therapy dog, has a number of serious health issues that require immediate medical care. Last year, he was diagnosed with IBD and years prior, arthritis and hip dysplasia. Unfortunately, his insurance has run out for the year months ago when he underwent emergency surgery to have a splenectomy and splenic tumor removed which was an incidental finding after a scan which revealed other results, sadly. After his surgery, he suffered a bout of pancreatitis unexpectedly that nearly took him from me but he’s a fighter. Since then, we’ve discovered my boy needs a very specific type of radiation treatment to target both brain and chest tumors that would administer large doses in a short period of time given he doesn’t cope well with anaesthesia. Now that that’s done, he needs investigation for his recurrent bouts of diarrhea and regurgitation. He’s had multiple hospitalizations from potential EPI (caused by the pancreatitis) that have resulted in recurrent episodes of diarrhea that’s not been able to be controlled. We hope that we can tackle his other symptoms to get more under control. It is suspected that he may have chronic enteropathy, but unsure without being able to investigate further. We are praying that the radiation prevents the growth of the brain and chest tumors. The brain tumor had caused symptoms of sporadic vestibular episodes, alongside bilateral facial paralysis that has since moved towards more of the center of his face. Sometimes he is slow to respond. But in true Jameson form, within 30 minutes of his most recent escalated episode, he was like a puppy again, and his spirit never wavers. He is the most loving, affectionate, happy boy you will ever meet. Last year, we lost his sister who was also a fighter and I know that since then, it has been immensely hard not just on me, but on him. Like Zoey, I will do everything in my power to help my little angel boy. He is my light, my best friend, my world. I genuinely don’t know what I’d do without him. He is loved by everyone he meets and deserves the best possible veterinary care. That is why I have created this page. It is only because of how desperate I am to ensure he gets the care he needs as urgently as possible that I made this page. I feel so uncomfortable asking for help, especially from money when so many are in need. But this isn’t about me. This is about the sweetest boy on the planet who needs a very specific type of medical care. I hope that you can help him, we need all the help we can get.
