James' Surgery Fund
I am James' mother, my name is Mary Marlene Pearce. I am currently undergoing chemotherapy for small cell lung cancer but this campaign isn't about me.
I am requesting medical /living expenses help for my son
James Turner. A few months ago James was diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma, by the time it was removed James had lost almost all of the right side of his nose and will need three surgeries to complete the repairs. In the attached photo you can see the results of the first surgery consisting of a skin graft from the forehead to the nose. This surgery provides nerves and blood supply to the nostril. The second surgery will take five to six hours during which cartilage will be taken from the ear to use in rebuilding the nostril and continuing the skin graft. The third surgery will finalize both the nose and graft from the forehead. After each procedure James is on bed rest for three weeks and unable to work at either of his two jobs. At this point he has been out of work for a month. And although his company and Doctor are allowing limited light duty until the next surgery, the medical and living expenses have built up quickly.
James and his wife have sold one of their two cars to help with expenses. He has worked two jobs for years and his wife works. Any funds received are to be used for medical expenses, insurance payments, so as not to lose coverage, and basic no frills living expenses.
James has worked hard since he was 16 years old. I hate to see anyone try so hard to help others, to be a good employee, neighbor and friend, lose what he has worked so hard to achieve.
I want to sincerely thank you for taking the time to read this information. Any donation, no matter what size is appreciated. Even if you choose not to make a donation it may be that you have read this so you can help someone else with a basal cell carcinoma. No cancer is a good cancer. If you know of anyone that has a spot that doesn't heal quickly please remember to tell them that even a small cancer can quickly become devastating.
please share this with others.
