A Recovery Restaurant in ATL
Donation protected
Hi. My name is James. I am a recovering alcoholic living in Atlanta. I have over 20 years of experience in restaurant management and ownership. I also have been blessed with 3 years of sobriety during which time I have met many people who are struggling to stay clean and sober while also facing the many obstacles of finding employment, housing, and transportation as a result of their addiction. I have established this account to raise the funds neccessary to achieve my dream of opening a restaurant in Atlanta that provides jobs and programs of support for men and women in addiction recovery.
THE MISSION
This business will serve fresh, quality food to our customers while employing people who often find themselves facing employment restrictions and stigmatization as they attempt to re-enter the workforce following either incarceration or release from treatment. Through this business I hope to, not only provide top-notch food and beverages to the customers, but, more importantly, provide recovery resources to the crew who work to stay clean and sober. This includes efforts to subsidize housing, transportation, job training, and education in an effort to break the cycle of addiction. Furthermore, the company will assist the crew in removing themselves from a system that is rife with recidivism.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
The money you give will immediately be used to search for a building and aquire a lease to begin build-out. The funds will also help with the many things needed before the business can be opened. These will include purchasing equipment, furniture, smallwares, inventory, etc. Also, money will be needed to hire contractors such as electricians, plumbers, painters, and the like. No doubt there will be many unforeseen expenses, but I am confident in the success of this mission.
THE VISION
To bridge the gap between the community and those in addiction recovery. The business will employ and train recovering addicts and alcoholics and offer 12-step sobriety program meeting space to our crew and the public. This company will strive every day to end the stigma of the disease of addiction.
I am tremendously grateful for my sobriety and recovery. I hope to spend the rest of my life supporting those who wish to find the relief and freedom I have been given.
I am honored by your consideration.
