Nashville to France for 1st IronMan
Donation protected

"Black people can't swim." "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." "You can't learn to swim as an adult." "It's too late for me to get in shape."
I've heard it all, I've said it to myself, but, I've decided to tear down the wall between me and those tired sayings. I want to be an example that it’s never too late to meet your goals...get in shape...learn new skills...take up new hobbies...and tackle sad but often times true stereotypes.
I will participate in my first IRONMAN competition in Nice, France on June 28, 2015. It consists of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bicycle ride, and 26.2 mile run.
You think that's crazy? Well, take into account I just learned how to swim, I ran my first full marathon last year (I've run 18 half marathons), and took up cycling last summer!
I've decided that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks, it's NEVER too late to learn, and it's possible to be in the BEST shape of your life.
Not only will I raise funds for this adventure, but I will help out one of my favorite organizations, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee (BBBSMT). As a current member of its Board of Directors and a past President of the Board, I would greatly appreciate your support. After covering the expenses of the competition, I will give the proceeds raised to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.
My law partner, William J. Haynes, III, will keep the accounting for my fundraising efforts, including, tracking the donations made, and ensuring that BBBSMT receives its donation.
I will keep you posted on my progress and training weekly. For more detailed updates, please follow me on Twitter or Instagram -- @jamescrumlin
Please help me in my journey to reach this goal, and hopefully inspire others to work towards their goals.
Thanks so much.
