James Wilder Needs Your Help One More Time
Donation protected
My name is Sierra, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my dad James Wilder. As most of you know, he has been battling Stage IV colon cancer that metastasized to his liver for quite some time but sadly, he now faces the final stages without the support of his parents, relying solely on small donations from his friends to make it through.
Facing terminal cancer while living out of a suitcase and trying not to lose the remainder of their belongings that are currently in a storage unit, is something no one should ever have to experience. With the costs of housing being as high as it is, and his inability to work, it leaves him with no means to pay for end-of-life care.
We also recently discovered that the social worker/patient advocate improperly filed his disability application by not marking his diagnosis as terminal, resulting in him losing his insurance. As it currently sits, he doesn’t even qualify for Medicare until December, which chances are by that time, it will be too late.
He is working with social security to remedy the situation but as most of you know, that takes a lot of time and that’s the one thing we are running short on.
We’re asking for your help to give James what every person deserves: comfort, dignity, and peace. Donations will go toward safe temporary housing, palliative care, transportation to appointments, and basic needs like food and medication. If possible, it will also help with any memorial or funeral costs when the time comes.
My dad is kind, funny, and strong, even now as he continues to fight this battle. If you’ve ever met him, you know how much more entertaining your life can get, and how much love you can feel for someone. If you can give, please do. If you can’t, please share. Every bit of help brings James closer to peace.
Thank you for reading, supporting, and caring.
