On behalf of the Wells Family, here's a message from James' oldest son, Jimmy:

 

On November 2, 2021, we unexpectedly lost the greatest man I was blessed to call dad. James “Jimmy” Wells (51) passed away due to a cardiac incident while working in Oregon. He was always willing to help anyone and everyone.  The outpour of grief and offer of support is the true testament of his greatness and the mark he left on this world. Seeing this gives a silver lining in all of this.

My dad was also a loving husband, father, and coach. He leaves behind my mom and his wife of 28 years, Valerie, Jimmy (me) (24, a senior at the United States Naval Academy), Justin (17, a junior at Lakeside HS), Jillian (14, a freshman at Lakeside HS), and Jenny (10).

Being taken too soon, arrangements were not in place to care for my mom and siblings. Once I graduate in May, I will be able to step up and care for them in my dad’s place. I could never replace such an amazing man, and can only hope to aspire to be the incredible role model my dad was. 

This GoFundMe was graciously set up on our behalf by Roslyn Cruz for those that have offered to help or would like to help. We humbly thank you all for your prayers, condolences, contribution, love, and support through all of this.

Funeral and interment will be immediate family and close friends that will be followed by a Celebration of Life reception. This will be open to all to celebrate the man that has impacted so many.
