On February 10, 2022, a fire broke out in James E Webb Musical Repair and Sales on Milo Creek in Martin County. Over the years, it has been a general store, the Stidham Post Office, and for the past 30 + years it has been a music repair and sales shop run by James E. Webb. However, James E. Webb's place wasn't just a store. It was a gathering place, even a school of sorts. Musicians of all ages, both family, and friends learned to play and shared their music there.

 

Over the decades, many people have bought their strings, picks, cases, tuners, banjos, guitars, fiddles, and more. Musicians from all around got their instruments repaired there. James E. Webb is well known among bluegrass and country artists for his expertise as a luthier. So if you run across an old banjo in the area, chances are that he built the neck. 

 

We don't want to give up. We want to rebuild. The night of the fire, we were able to get the instruments and most materials out of the shop before the water damaged them. But much of the interior of the building, especially upstairs, was badly damaged. Most, or all of the roof will need to be replaced.

 

Any amount that you feel in your heart to donate will be appreciated and will be used strictly for repairing the damages to the building so we can get back to the music.
