Hi, my name is Anna Lane and I am starting a fundraiser for James Wanders. I first heard of James and his remarkable story a little over a year ago after reading a story KOAM-TV had written on James. I was so touched and inspired by the story that I found James on Facebook and reached out in hopes of buying a painting off him. We became “Facebook friends” and although I have never met James in person, I have had a glimpse into his life through facebook and felt compelled to do something to help him during this difficult time.
It all started when James was only 13 years old. He was outside burning chickens when the diesel can he was holding blew up in his hands and set him on fire. He was fortunate to survive but had to have both of his hands amputated as a result. Even with the challenges he has faced since that time, James is a light to those around him, glorifies God through his suffering, and is known for the beautiful pieces of art, paintings, and sculptures he creates.
James is an overcomer and has spent his life enjoying the people and hobbies that are precious to him – "growing flowers and bluff climbing“.
On June 19, 2018 he lost his right leg above the knee to cancer. On Thursday 6/8/23, James suffered another life altering event with the removal of his last limb, leaving him as a quadruple amputee now. James has some tough days ahead, but he is a fighter. We want to show James that he has an army of family and friends and even loving and generous strangers who care. If you feel led to give, I know it would be a tremendous blessing for James to help with medical expenses, prosthetic devices, equipment, therapy, home modifications, etc. If you cannot give, I know the family will covet your prayers.
Please share this page if you feel inclined to do so!
