James Walker ALS Diagnosis

Donation protected

In December 2022 James was diagnosed with Cervical Spinal Stenosis with severe spinal cord compression which has affected his entire mobility. On December 9, 2022, James had surgery to decompress his spinal cord. While healing from his surgery, James experienced a severe lack of mobility which he received physical therapy for. In May 2023 James developed pneumonia which landed him back in the hospital only to discover that his spinal cord was still severely compressed. Shortly after he was diagnosed with aspirated pneumonia causing him to be placed on a ventilator. Through further testing, he was diagnosed with ALS. With this diagnosis will come many hardships for Jamie and his family. Donations will go towards medical expenses, moving expenses so Jamie can be comfortable in a handicap-accessible house, a transportation van, and assisting devices to help Jamie with everyday functions. Jamie will be discharged from the hospital soon, where he will go to a 2-week in-house facility for intense therapy. He will then be coming home and receiving treatment from the comfort of his home.
