James Ubell is one of the most uniquely authentic individuals that we in the skydiving community are privileged to call a friend. He is genuine, easy-going, and leads with his heart. Recently, he traveled to California to pursue a passion that many of us share. Unfortunately, this past Monday, he experienced a dreadful turn of events and has sustained severe injuries, including a fractured L5 vertebra, a shattered hip, femur, and right heel, along with three broken ribs, a detached sternum, and a concussion. Despite the severity of his injuries, James is demonstrating remarkable resilience and maintains incredibly high spirits. However, it remains uncertain when he will be able to walk again and he's waiting for surgery to save his right foot, which was almost entirely shattered.
James needs our help RIGHT NOW. He’s been a pillar of strength for many of us; now, it's our turn to support him. Please, let’s rally together to support James during his time of need. Your support will go a long way in helping him face the challenges that lie ahead. To begin with, I kindly ask that you reach out to James and let him know how much he is cared for and appreciated. Secondly, I am given to understand that the details of his insurance situation are still being resolved, but financial contributions to help cover his medical and travel expenses are invaluable regardless of the outcome. They will significantly ease his journey and help him navigate the daunting journey ahead.
For our very good friend, the sky has always been home. Let's help him return to the skies with us, where he truly belongs.
