"I have MS, but I will be DAMNED if MS has ME"-James Tucker

James Tucker Jr. was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in January 2024, following an arduous journey that began with COVID-19. What started as an emergency room visit turned into a week-long hospital stay, ultimately leading to the life-changing diagnosis of MS. The past couple of years have been incredibly tough for James, as he has faced the emotional and physical challenges that come with such a shocking diagnosis. As of today, James is managing his MS with medication, and he has received encouraging news—there are no new lesions in his brain or spine, which is a hopeful sign. However, James continues to experience a range of symptoms related to the disease.

During James's last doctor visit, the doctor advised that it is time to use a walker and to begin physical therapy for his back, knees, and right hand, as he has been experiencing a lot of pain, muscle tightness, cramping, and fatigue. Sadly, due to the overwhelming stress in his body, James has had to step back from his full-time job.

The focus is now on his safety and reducing the stress on his body, mind, and spirit. It's equally important for him to work on building his strength and mental resilience, as MS takes a significant toll emotionally and mentally.

To navigate these unforeseen challenges, James is moving in with Katie. This change provides him with a sense of security and the comfort of having someone by his side as he takes this time to reset, restore his peace, and focus on his overall well-being.

With this transition, financial challenges arise—monthly bills such as car payments, insurance, medicine, and medical copays (many of these), as well as expenses for necessary safety medical equipment, including a stairlift (which must be installed before James moves) and walkers (there are a couple of different ones James is considering). There may also be other unexpected costs along the way.

Asking for help isn't something James is used to; he's always been a giver, finding it hard to accept assistance. Yet, now, he must allow himself to be loved by others and take the physical resest and medical support he desperately needs. James' ultimate goal is to return to work, but for now, he's focusing on managing his symptoms and will pursue a part-time job when he's able.

Please share this message widely, and please continue to keep James in your thoughts and prayers. In times like these, we are reminded that "love prevails!"

Thank you for your compassion and support!
