Hey guys! As I’m sure you’re aware, I’ve set off for South Korea for two months, before heading to California for a month. I started the trip with a good nest egg of cash saved up, and a fully cleared credit card, and so I thought I was all set!
However, it seems as though my credit card has been cloned, either in China or here in Seoul, with someone potentially spending/siphoning money out of my account, without those transactions showing up on my statement. I have stopped my credit card, with my bank in the process of issuing me a replacement (which I won’t be able to activate until I’m in London), and am in conversation with them about compensation, but I am not certain that they will provide me with any.
I am hoping that you can help by donating a small amount to make sure that I can continue to survive whilst I am abroad.
Please do not be too scared or anxious for my ability to return to the UK, all my flights are booked, and I will be coming back!
What I am really stressing about is being able to pay for hostels, buy food to eat, travel to my WWOOFing host, and then back to Seoul in order to get to the airport, over the coming months, especially as my debit card is not able to pay for things without incurring incredibly high international currency conversion costs.
That is where my target of £700 has come from. With hostels here in Seoul costing between £10-£12 per night, £350 will help make sure that I have somewhere to sleep every night, until my stay with my WWOOFing hosts.
My food expenses everyday are no more than £7.50 currently (I know Korea is ridiculous) and so £250 will make sure that I am able to eat something everyday.
My train ticket to my WWOOFing host is £25 (one way), and so £50 would make sure I can get to their farm and back to Seoul safely.
Any amount would be appreciated, so please do not break the bank, but know that even the smallest donation will make things less stressful.
Thank you!
