This memorial family fundraiser has been created to help support Shawn’s family through their time of grief and to provide financial assistance during this time of need and into the future. Your kindness and generosity will help ease the burdens they face as they begin to navigate life without him.

Tragically, as the result of a snowmobile accident, on January 24, 2026 at the age of 47, Shawn Lowes passed away doing what he loved. He was a proud father of Sydney (Talon), Bryson (Emilie), Kaila, and Kamryn, and a cherished Papa of Bonnie. Shawn was the beloved husband of Leigh, dear son of Pat and the late Valerie (late Rick), and will be deeply missed by his siblings Bryan (Helen), Cathy, Tim (Gail), Kelly (Donald), and Steven. Shawn will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and everyone who knew him, including all of the family pets.

Shawn enjoyed shooting at the gun range, becoming a pretty decent shot, and loved travelling with his family, making cherished memories during annual trips to Myrtle Beach. Known as a skilled handyman, Shawn took great pride in his work at Lowes Powersports, particularly with small engine repairs. He loved the outdoors, gardening—especially his tomatoes and peppers—and spending time on his Kubota, often taking Bonnie along for rides.

In the wake of this sudden and heartbreaking loss, family and friends have come together to support Leigh and the children as they begin to navigate life without Shawn. This memorial family fundraiser has been created to help ease the financial burdens during this incredibly difficult time, allowing the family the space to grieve, heal, and focus on one another. Any contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated and will go directly toward supporting Shawn’s family as they work through this tragic loss.

The family would like to thank Shawn’s close friends and extended family for their unwavering support following the accident and the continuous outpouring of love. Your kindness means more than words can express.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Thorpe Brother’s Funeral Home (96 West Street, Brantford). A funeral service will take place in the chapel on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with reception following in the Carriage House. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting the family financially through this Go Fund Me and/or please connect with Leigh's sister Charly or andrea directly for a way to e-transfer.
