James Sabatini Scholarship Fund

The Hanover Area Track and Field Program would like to honor the late Mr. James Sabatini by awarding scholarships in his name to one male and one female track and field athlete at the sports recognition program this spring. We hope to raise enough money through donations from former colleagues, co-workers, students, athletes, and friends to award these scholarships into the future.

Mr. Sabatini was the founder of the Hanover Area Track and Field program in 1971. He retained a keen interest in the program until his passing in August 2023. In addition, he was the meet director and chairperson of the PIAA District II Track and Field Championships for many years.

“Sab”, as he was known by many, served as the principal of the high school and Superintendent of the Hanover Area School district for many years. He was a true professional. In all facets of his life, he promoted the ideals of educational and athletic excellence. He always placed the interest and well-being of every student at Hanover Area first.
