James runs Ultra Marathons for Dementia

Hey all,

I've recently lost my Nana to Vascular Dementia and was both comforted by the level of care she had throughout, but also very aware of how serious this disease is and how much more research and support is required.

I'm running two Ultra Marathons this year, they are as below:

The Ultra Loop, Manchester, Heaton Park, March 21st

The Manchester Backyard Ultra, Manchester, Giants Seat Scout Camp, June 13th

An Ultra Marathon is defined as anything past a Marathon (42.195km) and the two events listed above are two very different Ultra Marathons.

The Ultra Loop is a 5km looped course, where I have 8 hours to complete as many loops as possible in this time.

The Manchester Backyard Ultra is a 6.7km looped course, where you have to run every hour on the hour, 6.7km, until you can't anymore. There is no time limit on this.

I thought we could try and fundraise for Dementia UK during both these events and the training required for this.

I would also like to clarify that the race entries for both races have been paid for by myself and not by Dementia UK.

These are not paid race entries for Charity & all money will go directly to Dementia UK.
