James Perchlak

This fundraiser is being organized by the Operation: Harsh Doorstop community in support of our lead developer, Austin Perchlak, otherwise known as PookyThePolak. All funds raised will be directed towards any expenses related to the passing of his twin brother, James Perchlak, who tragically took his own life on January 17th, 2024.

Pooky has granted permission for this fundraiser to be organized. However, it is being run by myself, Connor Hill (Bluedrake42), on his behalf. All funds from this campaign will be handled by GoFundMe and securely transferred to Pooky (Austin) once the campaign is complete.

As many of you know, Pooky has been the rock that our community has relied upon to make Operation: Harsh Doorstop possible. He has been here working on the game every single day, and I can say with certainty that without his hard work, Operation: Harsh Doorstop would not exist. He is an incredibly selfless and understanding individual, who has put a significant amount of effort not only into the game itself but also into nurturing the community that has grown around it.

The loss of his brother has been a sudden and tragic event, deeply impacting both him and the rest of our development team. We not only feel Austin's sorrow but also share it, as many of us knew and befriended James over the many years that Austin has been with us. James was a similarly kind person, who shared Austin's humor and spirit.

To James, we are deeply saddened to have lost you. You were a good person who was loved.

To Austin, we are here for you in whatever way you need. Your brother would have wanted you to be looked after, and we're here to do that for both him and you.

Thank you both for everything you've contributed to our community. You have both been, and continue to be, our friends, and we owe you our loyalty and support during these difficult times.
