James Patrick Murphy, III

My name is Ms. Lurdes Rivera, and my handsome son was James Patrick Murphy, III. My son was born a premature baby at 3lbs., 14 oz's and was due to be born in May, not March of 1990. What a surprise to have him so much earlier and in the hospital for one month and half. He was born at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto. I would tell others, " my son was born a million-dollar baby". That is what the bill read since he was there, for less than two months until he weighed 5lbs.

A couple of happy memories I remembered about him. When he turned three years old, I had a Barney party and the expression on his face of fear seeing the purple dinosaur live and a giant, scared him. At seven years old James said to me, mommy, I'm going to marry you when I get older. I replied, baby you will always be my number one man!

On December 9th, 2021, my James was found unresponsive by his roommate in Sacramento and was transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center. I had to stay in hotels for seven days. By his 24hth hour in the hospital all I heard was coma and brain dead, until the 48th hour I learned he was on life support and confirmed after all tests he was brain dead on Saturday. I was so confused with everything. All I wanted was my son be alive and with me. My son passed away at the age of 31.

James will be missed dearly by me, his family, and his friends. He was loved by so many people. His personality always brought a smile to everyone, whether they were a close friend or someone he just met.

The funeral Services reached out to James' dad, Par. He had stated I, Lurdes is responsible for all payments. I am asking for any kind of help regarding James' funeral service. Unfortunately, I am currently unemployed. I am very grateful for all the love and support you all have given me while I am grieving for the loss of my only son.

Also, my son was an Organ Donor and his gift was given to others to lives on too. James, until we meet again! I miss and love you forever my #1 man!
