We are very sadden to share the news that our father, Jim White passed away on Friday, January 15 at the age of 78.
In his memory, we are raising funds for Memorial Benches at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial and the Manzano Open Space in Albuquerque. He was very fond of the memorial, and never failed to miss the Veterans' Day Ceremony.
Additional funds will be donated to the Western Golf Association Evans Scholars Foundation. Jim caddied at the Oak Park Country Club throughout high school, earning the Evans Caddie Scholarship to pay for college.
Jim touched a great many lives with his love, kindness, and compassion. He quietly supported his family, friends, community, and country, with his wisdom, advice and simply leading by example. He earned the love and respect of many.
He dedicated more than 26 years as an Air Force Officer with one tour in the Vietnam War. After retirement, his sense of duty compelled him to run for office in New Mexico, and honorably served the state as both a House Representative and a Senator.
Jim traveled the world with family and friends and loved the outdoors. From the bottom of the Grand Canyon to the top of Mauna Kea, across the Sandia Crest to great National Parks, he loved to be outside in the wonder of nature.
