Supporting Jessica and Her Children After an Unimaginable Loss

Hi, my name is Jade and I’m fundraising for my cousin Jessica, who has recently lost her beloved partner in the most heartbreaking way.

At just 18 years of age James was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and went on to receive a heart transplant at just 21 years old.
In 2018 after the birth of his little girl that heart started to reject and James had antibody rejection and heart failure, the medication to help his heart also caused multiple organ failure.
Through sheer strength and determination, he fought it.
James truly made the most of every moment, and even with weeks and months of their lives spent in hospital with his wife and children by his side, he was always known for his infectious laugh and always wore a smile.
He was the most amazing dad! He raised 6 children, and was able to marry the love of his life, my cousin Jessica - his resilience and strength was nothing short of inspiring.
Last August 2024 James was told there was nothing more they could do for him, but he continued to fight on.

On the August 1st 2025 at the hospital Jessica was told she would have 12 hours left with James after she noticed him deteriorating at home - however he fought on, he went home and from home he went to willowbrook hospice a place he had chosen to be - there he started to learn to walk again and eat again with the encouragement and support of his wife. The doctors discribed him as ‘unique and unpredictable’ & they even discussed discharge. He fought hard to stay with the family he loved so much.
Sadly on August 23rd James could fight no longer and at just 36 years old he quickly and painlessly left this world with his wife by his side

He leaves behind six wonderful children that he and Jessica raised together - Gabriella (18) Riley (14), Nevaeh (13) Esmae (9) Elsy-Rose (7), and baby James (1). As you can imagine, this loss has turned their world upside down.

We’re raising funds to help cover funeral costs and to support Jessica and the children during this incredibly difficult time. James was unable to ever obtain life insurance as he was diagnosed at such a young age - leaving behind the pressure of funeral expenses aswell as a young family. With christmas approaching, we also hope to bring a little light and comfort to the family as they face the holidays without him.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. Thank you for your kindness, support, and compassion.
