James Molloy Recovery

Dear Friends of James Edward Molloy,

To say James has had a rough eight months would be an understatement.
James suffered a Type A aortic dissection in June 2025, they said he was lucky to be alive as there is only a 20% survival rate, however he did survive and the following seven months saw James battle with a changed life, dealing with new medications, insurance companies, mortgage provider and daily life also whilst trying to keep his blood pressure down and come to terms with his first near death experience.

James had routine dental work in Nov 2025 which we believe led to a common skin bacteria Staphylococcus aureus getting into his blood stream and binding itself to James new heart valve, which went undetected
until he fell suddenly ill on 10th Jan. On Friday 16th Jan a team of 5 top surgeons at Liverpool heart and chest hospital spent 18 hours performing more lifesaving surgery the like of which they collectively hadn’t seen before.
One hour after surgery was complete Dr Jakob said that if James manages to live for the next hour then he would have something to smile about. ‘There is nothing more we can do, its now up to James’.
Six days later James is just being pulled out of an induced coma with three new heart valves, ‘gore-tex’ heart patches, grafted aortic stem, multiple aortic patches and a pacemaker.

We currently don't know the extent of the damage this has caused but we do know James is facing a lifetime ahead on medication, antibiotics and rehabilitation, and a prolonged stay in hospital. James has a mountain to climb if he is ever to lead any sort of ‘normal much changed life’.

James is going to need the support of all his friends and family in the week, months and years to come.
James is a happy go lucky loving father of two beautiful kids.
An amazing brother and son.
An inspirational ‘father figure’ to his partners’ children.

James has debts and a mortgage that needs paying as the mortgage company say ‘there is nothing more they can do….’ as he already had the three month mortgage holiday in June’ after his first operation. ’ He is also not entitled to any government help
James is self-employed and without some form of ‘Lazarus miracle’ won’t be back doing any sort of work in 2026.

James is a proud man but he really needs friends and families’ help, We ask you to dig deep and send / gift / pledge any money you can so we can try to give James comfort and support. We are hoping to be able to cover at least six months of his mortgage and help him with debts.. it would be great to then tell him once he fully regains consciousness;
“don’t stress about the mortgage and your debts. We have sorted it with the help of your family and friends”

Any donations, whatever the value, once added up and combined will help us to try to relieve James from as much stress as possible so he can fully concentrate on his recovery.

We thank you with all our hearts in advance for your generosity.

Much Love
The Molloy Family
