A Headstone for James “Man” Gray

Hello everyone, this is long overdue, and frankly, it is time to get it done. I was not his family, but I was a good friend of James “Man” Gray, growing up in 5th Ward together. Close enough that every year, on the anniversary of his death, I make a trip to his grave to pay my respects. To remember the good times we had. Every year I see the small grave marker and it hurts me as he deserves better. I have tossed this around with his family and friends for years, but decided that it needed to get done. Every year I clear grass away from the marker, and straighten it, as it looks like it often gets kicked sideways by the mowers as they go through.

The idea is that all proceeds from this Go Fund Me will go towards a proper headstone for Man. Whatever is left over will go towards a tureen dinner to be held in 5th ward the weekend that Man’s tombstone will be laid. I have checked with Man’s immediate family and they have approved this. All proceeds will be visible and transparent so there are no questions about motivation.

I am starting off by donating $100 towards the cause. If 20 or 25 of you match it, this will get done. But we are not asking for $100. We are asking for whatever you can to finally get James the grave marker he deserves. Whether it be $200 or just $2, anything would be greatly appreciated. It’s time to remember Man as we should. Please help us make this a reality. Thank you!
