James Killen Chair Needs

Life as Jay knew it drastically changed in December 2011. Jay was at deaths door for several weeks with doctors perplexed as to why. With his body almost entirely paralyzed they were finally able to diagnosis him with Botulism.  Botulism is a rare and serious illness caused by a bacterium. The toxin it produces damaged most of the nerves in his body.   Days have turned into years and Jay has fought a long battle regaining strength and mobility.   Jay and Amanda have walked this fork in their road with grace and dignity.  Even with all the struggles that they have endured they continue to help others and be committed friends to so many!  There has been a recommendation from Jays therapists and doctors to add an adjustment to Jays chair. This adjustment would allow Jay to stand, stretch his legs, and improve his quality of life greatly! As I am writing this I realize how I take things like being able to stand or walk for granted! Unfortunately the insurance company will not cover ANY of the expense AT ALL! I could rant and rave about the unfairness of the healthcare system but would rather focus my energy on the solution!  Please help me and let’s raise as much as we can for Jay to get the things that he needs to continue to improve!
