Hello Everyone, I am the wife of James (JJ) Johnson III. As many of you may or may not know JJ suffered a massive Ischemic stroke on 1 April 2022. JJ is a hard worker who dedicated his life to being a great husband, father, son and nephew. JJ is dedicated member of the church music ministry where he is known as the number 1 drummer, he is also a great coach to not only just his sons teams, but he also helps with the youth in the community.

 

JJ was in Grady for 4 weeks where he has undergone various surgeries including a major brain surgery where the surgeons had to remove part of his skull to relieve pressure from the location where the blood clot was located in his head.

His left side has been tremendously affected by this traumatic brain injury and this leaves JJ under total care. Meaning, he has to have 24-7 care. He was recently discharged from Grady and now is in a rehabilitation facility in Atlanta.

 

During this difficult time, with transitioning from this could be a dream to it is "REALITY", as well due to lack of insurance benefits, myself (Dwan), his children (Whitney, Brittney, Jaylon, Drea), his mom and dad (James, Sr. and Judy), sister (Jennifer) and brother (Jermaine) as well as other immediate family members ask for any assistance that will go towards medical expenses for JJ. I am looking into relocating JJ to a closer rehabilitation in Macon with the intentions of him coming home and having the homecare team come in the home to help care for him so that I am able to continue to work an to be able to care for JJ who will need continuous months of rehabilitation to regain his strength and to be able to provide for his family.
