My name is Lashonda most people know me as Lala, I’m currently experiencing the worst pain I’ve ever felt.. losing my son in the hands of the Los Angeles County Jail. October 1, 2023 I was notified that my son, James Evans was found without a pulse in a one-man cell. For those of you that know James, you know that he suffered from severe seizures since the age of 16 as a result of brain surgery. Days prior to his passing James had a seizure in the shower of the men’s jail and was supposed to be under medical supervision, but instead was placed in a cell by himself with no one around to help him. For 4 weeks prior to this James told us that he wasn’t receiving his proper medication dosage, & they were denying his medication, which led to the repeated seizures he experienced for the month that he was there. We want to fight this injustice, these donations will go towards funeral arrangements and legal fees in our case against Los Angeles County. Please help me find peace, my son still had a full life ahead of him. With the proper supervision and medical attention during his time in the LA County Jail James would still be here with us today. James left behind his mother, father grandmother, sisters, brothers, nephews, nieces, & friends and least to say we are all deeply heartbroken. Help us find peace.
