James Hammons (Jim)

I was lucky enough to have met Jimmy in the 3rd grade and, in doing so, make a life-long friend. I was there to witness the passing of his father who, after serving honorably in the Vietnam War, slowly succumbed to the effects of Agent Orange when Jimmy was only 15 years of age. I would often go fishing with them with Jimmy driving despite not having a license as his father was physically unable to do so. The love and care Jimmy showed towards his father with no concern for himself was a testament of his true character. Jimmy never refused to help someone in need. His love for fishing was something he carried with him his entire life as it brought with it memories of his father and a feeling of peace.

Jimmy was a veteran of the US army, and leaves behind a wife, Tracey, and two sons, James and Ryan.
