In lieu of flowers, our family is asking for donations to the James Furrer Memorial Fund to benefit the Dodd Mountain Volunteer Fire Department.   

Jim joined the DMVFD in 2001.  He served as a firefighter and First Responder for 19 years and as Fire Chief for 17.  He initiated many of the projects over the years, which helped the department grow in the number of fire stations, vehicles and equipment, training programs, collection of dues, grant proposals, and the reduction of the overall ISO Class rating.

The fire department meant a great deal to Jim and we feel he would like us to honor him in this way.  We have not designated a specific project at this time, but we will update everyone when it has been decided.
