Wow, how do I begin. My name is Helen. I have a twin brother, James, whom I love dearly. James is 59 years old. We just celebrated our birthdays on April 2nd. James is a Christian and even though James may have strayed from time to time, God never strayed away from James.
James has a HUGE heart. He will give you his last dollar if it would help you. He just could not say NO. I guess that has been his biggest problem through life.
Two months ago James died three times and was brought back to live. He was in a coma twice. He was in the hospital for one month. Then they moved James to a rehab facility. He was doing pretty good considering what he was going through. As if things could not have gotten any worse, a couple of weeks later James was dignosed with liver cancer. They gave James 4 months to live and informed me that I should go ahead and make funeral arrangements. That day heaven pour down its rain and filled my eyes with tears. How in the world can I go through life without my TWIN BROTHER I do not know. I try not to think about it because it hurts so bad. God has walked with both me and James through life, I can only trust that HE will help us get through this too.
James is a simple man. He did not have much except a bedroom and what little clothes he had. He is divorsed. Has 6 children. He always paid children support. Said if he has done anything right in life it was his children. He loves them so much, even had their names tatooed on his arm. He was living on bare essentials because as you can imagine, child support for 6 is a lot.
James has no insurance, no savings, nothing. His children told me they could not help financially with funeral expenses. I am sure they would if they could! So, here I am doing something I never thought I would have to do, plan my brother's funeral.
I want to give James a sweet simple funeral with just family and close friends. I was told their is something called "immediate burial" which is simple and least expensive. It will cost between $7,000 - $10,000. I am still waiting to find out the exact cost. I did secure a burial plot., so at least I have a place to bury him. I am very thankful!
My niece, Ramona, told me about GoFundMe. So here I am asking the kindness of strangers to open their hearts and help me help my brother, James.
