Late last night I lost my brother and my best friend, my mom lost her baby boy. Kayzleigh lost the best dad she could have ever had. Emily lost the love of her life. My kids lost an uncle who would have taught them to love the outdoors and appreciate every beautiful day. The world lost a generous, caring and hilarious person. His friends lost a guy who would do anything for them and literally give them the shoes off his feet, because he has before.
I don’t know how to live in a world without the person I could talk to about everything, the little boy who rubbed my back when my first boyfriend broke up with me, the boy who would give me his birthday money so I could go out with friends when I didn’t have any, the man who I admired so much for his kindness and selflessness.
But the world is not what is was yesterday, it never will be.

james and I both lost our dads at young ages. I never wanted this for his baby girl but I will do everything to make sure she knows the kind of person her daddy was, and to make sure she is taken care of.
